My name is Soar Lo, the leader and coordinator of NTHU Tanzania Educational Volunteer Team 2014.I’m now in the second year of master degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology Institute of National Tsing Hua University (NTHU).
I volunteered in Tanzania for one
month in 2009 as the Head of Document & File Division. The life in Tanzania
is short but profoundly influential, and I’ve promised myself that one day I
will be back and keep devoting myself in this country.
It is my
honor to organize the volunteer team in 2014; our team consists of 14members
with talent and enthusiasm.According
to the investigation by 2013, we will focus on four potential schools this
year, with computer education program, cultural exchange activity and science
experiment.
Thanks
to the volunteers from 2008 to 2013, we have set up computer classrooms for
more than five schools and re-visited every year to ensure the working status
and requirement. We will also re-visit those schools during our service time.
Apart
from this, we are going to expand our service in the region of Kilimanjaro. We
have received invitation from schools in Moshi, where is just under the Mt.
Kilimanjaro.
To
volunteer in Africa for 40 days is not easy. We are not only preparing for the
programs, learning the local language, but also raising money and computers for
our service.
I’m here
to invite everyone to support us, and we will accomplish this great work
together. No matter how little or how much, your support will be our firmest encouragement.
We give Tanzanian students a window to open to the world; we are given a view
to see the beauty of humanity.
